Pocket blood flow detector
This pocket-size Doppler blood flow detector allows for wide range of diagnostics of neck, extra-cranial, upper and lower extremities vessels. It is very handy thanks to its small size and rechargeable battery-powered operation. A built-in loudspeaker and a headphone jack allow for its use in any environment.
The device is a great help when you need to perform a fast assessment of bloodflow in peripheral vessels in a patient with weak pulse. The standard version is equipped with a universal 5 MHz ultrasound frequency, which makes it suitable for diagnosing both peripheral and deep vessels owing to to high sensitivity. A special 8 MHz version is available for users who want to diagnose only peripheral vessels or slow bloodflows. The device’s probe is connected to the main unit using high-class snap-in connectors.
Due to MD4’s high sensitivity, you can evaluate bloodflow in finger and bulbar vessels of feet (in patients with diabetes) and hands (eg. in Raynaud syndrome). It’s possible to use the device to measure systolic pressure, especially in lower extremities, when the pulse cannot be detected manually or even using a stethoscope. The most common application in that range is measurement of the ABI (ankle-brachial index).
